This is a quick dish that can be used as a dip instead of an accompaniment. However, if you’re are planning a biryani, this compliments it very well.

Ingredients:

½ cucumber, coarsely grated
300ml natural yogurt, whisked
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground cumin
A pinch freshly ground black pepper
A pinch chilli powder

Preparation:

Squeeze any excess water from the grated cucumber, using your hands. Place the cucumber in a bowl, then stir in the yogurt. Stir in the salt, cumin, black pepper and chilli powder. Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate until required. Serve chilled.
