ImageThere are plenty of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Earthy tasting spinach is great for making saag dishes and it’s packed with vitamins and iron. Try my Buttery Spinach and Potatoes recipe. If you have to put meat in all of your spinach recipes, gradually try and cut back on the amount of meat that you do add to the dish. In this way, you’ll be encouraged to eat more of the spinach. Overcooked spinach has very few nutrients left. Spinach can be stored loosely in a plastic bag in the refrigerator but try and eat them within a few days of buying them.

Carrots are cool too and I love eating them raw. Make sure when you buy them that they are not cracked on the outside and have fairly smooth surfaces. Plus strawberries from other European countries are coming into the UK. Choose the smaller ones which will have more flavour and sweetness. This makes a welcome change from stodgy puddings, Indian sweets and cakes.
