Image Question:
I have a dinner party for 24 people coming up soon, and will draw heavily from your excellent book.  Which of your recipes would you recommend for making in bulk?

Answer:
Below are a few suggestions as to what might be fun and also very quick to do...

Spicy Nuts on p151 can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container. You could also serve the sausage meat shammi kebabs on p55 which could be served with Cumin Ketchup or Tomato and chilli chutney both made in advance. The chicken in a hot sweet and spicy marinade on p140 always goes down a storm and can be marinated a day in advance and stored covered in the fridge.

Some suggestions for the main...

Minced Lamb with peas on p 49 is a good dry and spicy dish which can be made a day before and served with ready made naans or pitta pockets for speed. Spicy red Lentils on p96 are basic and simple yet full of flavour Vegetable Korma on p62 can be made from frozen vegetables for speed. Cucumber Raita on p123 is a nice cooling salad. Do squeeze as much water from the cucumber before you add it to the yogurt. Pulao Rice on p109 is a good simple rice dish with a touch of whole spice. King Prawn Masala is a quick dish to prepare. The Jubilee Curry on p29 has been a recipe that a lot of my friends make at home regularly. The ten minute chicken curry on p28 is another favourite chicken dish. The Cabbage with Dried red chilli on p66 is a dry vegetable preparation with fabulous mustard seeds. And the sweet Crme Fraiche with Saffron on p160 is great for dunking strawberries into afterwards.

Of course, these are only suggestions and if you're more familiar with other recipes then do opt for those. If you do have time, its worth trying out some of these in advance to see how you feel about them and how they taste. And of course, because you're cooking in bulk do tailor the timings. I hope you'll be getting some help and do have a great time!!

Go to any home in the north of India during the winter months and the proverbial aloo gobhi will be served at least once a week, either as an accompaniment to a curry or as the main dish with chapatis. Aloo Gobhi is also one of the most popular side dishes served in restaurants in Britain.
